How does the Breakout Slack integration work?
Breakout provides a Slack integration that’s included with all our paid plans. The Slack integration lets your go-to-market teams see and act on real-time intent directly in Slack.
With Breakout for Slack you can:
Deanonymize visitors and companies in real time and get these alerts in Slack.
Trigger SDR pounce on high-intent visitors directly from Slack
Get conversation alerts (new chat, reopened chat, etc.)
Get conversion alerts (signups, form fills, trial starts, etc.)
Get meeting booked alerts (from your calendar/meeting tool)
Breakout for Slack: what does it do?
Once connected, Breakout can post rich, actionable alerts into Slack whenever key events happen on your website or product, for example:
Visitor deanonymization
When an anonymous visitor is identified (via firmographic/IP/CRM enrichment), Breakout posts:
Company name & domain
Key firmographics (size, industry, location, tech stack*)
Live page/session info
Any matched CRM record (account/lead/contact)
Company deanonymization
When we can’t identify the person but can identify the account, Breakout posts a company-level alert so your team can decide whether to engage or watch.
SDR pounce: When a high-intent visitor or target account hits key pages (pricing, demo, security, etc.), Breakout posts a “pounce” alert to the relevant Slack channel so SDRs can reach out in real time via chat, email, or call.
Conversation alerts
Conversion alerts: Breakout can notify Slack when: A visitor submits their lead, Breakout books a meeting, etc. Breakout also auto-enriches lead info so your sales teams receive complete context on your conversions.
Meeting booked alerts: When a visitor books a meeting (via your connected scheduler), Breakout sends a summary with:
Who booked
Routing info
Company & intent info
Time and meeting link
How do team members get notified in Slack?
Breakout gives you flexible notification options.
Shared channels
You can send all alerts into central channels such as #breakout-alerts or split by team/territory.
Threaded, opt-in engagement
Each alert is posted as a new message. Team members can:
React with emojis to claim or snooze
Reply in the thread to coordinate next steps
Granular controls
In Breakout you can configure:
Which events create alerts
Which channels they go to
Quiet hours / throttling (to avoid noise)
Anyone who joins the channel in Slack automatically sees live and future alerts.
Are alerts still visible in my Breakout dashboard?
Yes.
All events and alerts that are sent to Slack are also stored in your Breakout workspace. You can still:
Search and filter visitors, companies, and sessions
See full timelines of activity and alerts
Conversation logs
Think of Slack as your real-time surface, and Breakout as your system of record and analytics layer.
Can I still work from the Breakout app?
Absolutely.
You can:
Work purely from the Breakout dashboard
Work purely from Slack for quick triage and routing
Or do a mix:
Scan alerts in Slack
Click through to Breakout for deeper investigation
All actions stay in sync across both surfaces.
Do I need to add every SDR as a Breakout user?
It depends on what they need to do:
To receive and read alerts in Slack
They only need access to the Slack channels you configured. No Breakout seat required.
To drill into full profiles, timelines, or change settings
They need a Breakout account with the appropriate role (e.g. SDR, Sales, Admin).
This lets you keep accesses under control while still giving broad visibility to GTM teams through Slack.
Which Slack actions are available from an alert?
From most Breakout alerts in Slack, you’ll see buttons or message shortcuts such as:
Join conversation – allows SDRs/AEs to take over from AI
Connect on LinkedIn – view visitors' or companies' LinkedIn profiles
The exact options you see depend on how your admin has configured Breakout and which tools are connected (CRM, chat, calendar, etc.).
How does privacy and data handling work?
The Slack integration follows the same privacy policy that applies to the rest of Breakout:
Breakout only sends the data required to render the alert in Slack.
Access to alerts in Slack is governed by Slack’s own channel and workspace permissions.
You can control which events and fields are shared via the integration settings.
For full details, please refer to Breakout’s Privacy Policy on our website.
I have an issue, how do I get support?
If you’re running into problems with the Slack integration, we’re here to help.
You can:
Chat with us from the Breakout agent (across).
Or send us an email from our Contact or Support page.
Please include, when possible:
A short description of the issue
A screenshot of any error messages in Breakout or Slack
The Slack workspace and channel where you expected to see the alert
This helps us troubleshoot much faster.
